Did anyone have their engagement party

in their parent's backyard?
What did you write on the invitations? (I want to make mine)
Who did you invite?
Did you register before?

Ours was in my FH Parent's house and backyard. It was a bit more formal, catered, and the backyard tented. The invitations were also more formal. We had over 100 people - close friends and family (wedding will be over 200). Yes we registered before hand.

Same here, we invited our close friends and family we had a little over 100 people, my parents had a tent and we had the food catered. Favors we got from a place in Mineola FM if you want info. The invitations I did but they were kinda formal also. I also registered before hand and put where i was registered on the invitations.

We had ours at my parents home, we have close family and friends, meaning everyone in the bridal party and significant others.
We sent out formal invitations, very cute and we did not register before hand, it was a great get together, some was catered and the rest my brother cooked, he is a chef so that was his gift to us

Yes, we had ours at my moms house in June. We had about 60 people and ordered 2 large heros and catered in 3 hot dishes. We did register before and got LOTS of gifts, but we didn't put our registries on the invite.

Since most people have been to my moms house for graduation parties and such, we just put:

Please join us to celebrate blah blah blah...
Saturday, June 4th 2005 @ 2:00pm
1111 Whatever Street
Anytown, NY 11111

So, we didn't put 'At the home of' of anything like that. Hope this helps.

we had about 40 people in my moms backyard.. we got a hero, and some catered food and then FMIL and others amde things to bring. We had so much food we are still eating it a week later.

On the invite we put At the home of _____

it was in FHs yard back in june. i called people, didn't bother with invitations since it was just close family. no friends at all since it was the first time our parents would be meeting. i had registered before and got most of my gifts from my registry!

we had ours at my dads house, it was a cloudy night but the rain held, so everyone started in the house and ended up by the pool and cabana and it worked out perfectly :) we had around 50 people, pretty informal, my step mom sent out invites from a card store and they had it catered with wraps and salads and stuff (and my aunts a chef so she also made some dishes). We had registered and got soo many gifts, which was a nice surprise. everyone seemed to have a great time :)

Ia m having mine 9/25 we are paying for it and having it Nassau at a Knights of Columbus place, we are not registering and I made the invitations myself, they said:

We Area Adding A New Chapter To

with an

Engagement Party!

We are having about 60 people at a local restaurant, only immediate family, the wedding party and a few close friends.....I made my own invitations. I bought nice stationary from Michaels.

.....Mariela2006 - I am getting married April 7 too!!! No I don't think it is too late for an engagement party, but i do think if you want to have one to do it soon...within the next month or so.
