Did anyone have to have a large piece of furniture cut up to have it moved in?
DH and I have been anxiously awaiting our bedroom set. After a lot of annoyance and waiting, and more waiting, and more annoyance, the company finally established today that we will have to have our armoire cut in order to move it into our apartment. Has anyone else had to do this with a nice piece of furniture? We are paying a lot of money for this furniture, and I'm worried about how it's going to look when reassembled.
I'm also really annoyed at the company, b/c they keep prolonging this process and we were supposed to get our furniture two weeks ago, but that's a topic for another LONG post!!

my co worker had to have her couch cut in half to move it in and she swears that you can't even tell..i wouldn't worry about it..they do it all the time..just remember that you'll have to call someone in to cut it again when you move..good luck

I had to have my den couch cut to go down our stairs. The guys were great -- cleaned up their mess and said that the couch is actually now sturdier than it was when I bought it. You definetly can NOT tell this was done.
Furniture manufacturers are making furniture bigger and bigger, but doorways and hallways haven't changed.
The guy who came to do our couch already told us to be careful when we order our bedroom furniture. He said I'll be calling him. I'm glad I've had a good experience with him and know I can rely on him the next time.
