Did anyone have to have their flowers brought in from another country?
The calla lillies that I want are not in season. My florist tried to get them from Holland but he might have tracked them down to an arboretum in Guatemala. Has anyone else been through this? Should I be nervous that they will not get here in time?

You're not an idiot!!! Most of my flowers will be coming from Holland but that's about it. I took a flower course in college and the teacher told me that Holland flowers are stronger than flowers from the states.... I tend to agree w/ her from what I've seen. You're a 'perfectionist'- not an idiot!!

OMG, please do yourself a favor, you still have lots of time. Go to Jack and Rose and just talk to him. I was told by three different florists that I couldn't have colored calla's in January without spending ridiculous amounts of money. Jack was less expensive than two of them, and says it's no problem. Good luck!

Really? The florist said he could get the rust and light pink but burgandy calla lillies are the problem. Thanks for the info

Jack told me that he gets his flowers from France, holland etc as well.. So I think its usualy..a nd I wouldn't worry.. Every florist I have talked with told me they get their flowers from other countries... You'll be fin..

if you are doing calla lillies then they do come from other countries.
Some do come from Cali - but most come from Holland, France, Italy, South America - Where they come from I think depends on where the florist has a connection with the distributors and what they are trying to get

I have flowers coming in from Holland for my bouquet. They better be amazing, they are costing an arm and a leg!!
