Words cannot describe how angry I am. How can anyone say that the Holocost did not exist??????

I've heard this before...the senior Gibson is a little off his rocker IMO....MEl is nothing like that...in fact Mel says that it is 'un-Christian' to be Anti-Semitic (that was his arguement against the claim that his movie is anti-semitic)

I read it this morning. He is not the only one who feels that way, there will always be prejudice as long as humans breathe, but he is entitled to his opinion.

Ok, please note that this man also said that Americans should over throw their government...meaning overthrow a democracy, not George Bush. He's nuts...pay no mind to what he says.

Agreed – totally horrendous and obviously this man is not working with a full deck.

The sad thing is that I heard on the news this morning that Mel Gibson has been quoted as saying that his father has never lied to him about anything. I hope he was not referring to this nonsense when he made that comment.

ETS: I don’t agree about the killing him part. Didn’t see that when I posted. I was just agreeing that the whole thing is disgusting and outrageous.

Does it bother anyone else that this movie is coming out on Ash Wednesday? I am by no means a Bible thumping Catholic, I can hardly get to church nowadays-but it makes me uncomfortable that Mel Gibson is using a religious holiday as a marketing ploy for a movie.

That said, his father is an as$hole. with a capital A. Its people like that that make me nervous, not because they are totally nuts, but because they believe so strongly that their views are right. And will back them at any cost. It amazes me that anyone can say those kind of things, knowing that they will be printed in the media for all time.

It just so happens that when I go back to school on Monday, I will be spending a couple of days teaching about the Holocaust, plus we're going to the Jewish Museum in Battery Park on Thursday to learn more about the Holocaust. I usually bring this issue up (how some people claim that the Holocaust did not actually exist) but thankfully my students believe that it did exist, and cite evidence to show it existed. I have heard some people complain about how you always hear about the Holocaust, but with these wackos out there claiming it didn't happen, we have to keep reminding people, especially the younger generation, that it did exist and we have to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again!

July....its times like these...that you realize how important your work is...

when I taught 10th grade...i spent more time on the Holocaust than any other topic...for good reason...and I wish this schmuck could give an answer for the photographs that documented this death...

Hitler thought he was doing the world a service and documented everything - thinking he would go down in history...well not the way he really did



this guy ranks up there with the we didn't land on the moon people!!



and Alan Greenspan is probably the most intelligent and affective person we have in the US government...so that just confirms this guy is a nimrod!!!

I heard this on the radio this morning.... I think it is awful. Why was his dad doing an interview? Why is his opinion relevant other than the fact that it is adding to this already way overwhelming controversy.

Now Mel Gibson has to clean up his father's distusting mess so it does not reflect badly on him.... WTF?

HappilyEverAfter..... the movie was supposed to come out months ago, and the release date kept getting pushed back b/c of all the contrversy. The Ash Wednesday release date is in responsse to that.

He is freakin nuts. Without a doubt ignorant and stupid.

I work in a predominantly jewish community, and I often come across patients who had survived the holocost, and it really touches me when I think that these are the last survivors who will be able to share thier stories with us. If you have ever met a survivor, and you have seen the tattoo on thier arm with thier number that they were given, its really a feeling you cant describe. Its so sad. All of them with the same tattoo in the same place. But no, this never happened
