To the store that you got your dress from? I feel stupid now that it's in so early and they believe my wedding is like a month and a 1/2 earlier than my real wedding. What do I do about alterations?

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
I didn't lie - but I ordered my dress a year in advance so I figured I had plenty of time

I did. After it came in and I visited it, I called them and told them we changed the date.

I planned on it but they seemed to be so on top of things so I didn't.

good idea... I was going to suggest that.
the girl who did mine lied for me. On the order form, she put a month earlier on her own.

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
I told both dress stores (for mine and my girls dresses) that the wedding was the sunday before it actually was.

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
Macy*s lied for me, so when my dress came in October, I told them to change the date from Jan. to Aug.

i'm sure they won't bother you about it just call & make an appointment for your alterations when you want to go...if they say anything, just say you heard horror stories of girls not getting there dresses in time..... look at all the girls here who lied, i plan on too...lol

I didn't lie but I can't tell you how many people advised me to, it's a good idea if you think about it because you just never know.

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
I lied by 2 weeks. Then I made sure all of my BM's did too b/c we got our dresses on the same store. It worked up until we had to arrange for me to pick up my dress which was to be the day before the 'supposed' wedding. One said she couldnt come with me because she will be in FL the day before. So I said to her that she is getting the RED-EYE back to be at the wedding. I looked like a dope but we laugh about it now.

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
I lied by 2 weeks since i'm the Saturday right after the Thanksgiving Holiday - most places are closed for the better part of that week. I wanted to make sure we got all the fittings and everything done before that week.
I only ordered last week for my Nov wedding... the store actually suggested I lie for the paperwork...I don't think it's a big deal.

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
My sister did this....When they called to tell her the dress was in she simply told them they had to push back the wedding by 2 months....They had no problems with this.....

Re: Did anyone lie about their wedding date?
I lied and then calld...saying that the date I gave was tentative and I changed b/c of the scheduling conflicts. They didn't care nor did they remember!
