of their apartment to go back and live with their parents? I cannot believe I am considering this! But weddings are sooo expensive and I refuse to get into debt over one day. Would that be horrible to move back for a little while??

Re: Did anyone move out
If you are on your own (not w/ FH), then I say if it saves you money go for it. It will also be nice to be w/ your parents for a final year b4 you get married. If you have the option to, why not?

Re: Did anyone move out
We're doing it this weekend... Only for a couple of months though. We hope to close on a house right before or right after our wedding, which is in two months - definitely by the end of the year at the latest...
We see no reason to keep wasting money on rent - We'll stay at my parents for now and be looking for our own place the entire time we're there!
I say, do it. You are lucky to have the option of doing it.

I am doing it. My parents are adamant that their little girl 'get married from home.' Literally....

So you would move back home just to afford the wedding?

Re: Did anyone move out
Right now I live on my own, not with FH. I would be moving back home to save $ for the wedding. I would like to pay cash and not be in debt. MY FH will be living by himself in his own apartment.

Two of our close friends have done that. I think it works for a little while and depending on the families.

A co-worker of mine did that about a year and a half before her wedding.

Re: Did anyone move out
If it's not for too long it might be okay. I lived out of state for a while then moved back home and it was okay for a while but after a couple of months both me and my parents were ready to rip our hair out.

Re: Did anyone move out
Believe it or not I still live at home (My parents converted our garage into an apartment). I've never left home. My FH aslso still lives at home. When we were first dateing he had wanted to eventually get a place together, but after we talked about it, and he saw how I felt about it, he was fine with how were are doing it. We see how much money we have saved, that we otherwise would have been throwing away to a landlord. I come from a very traditional family, my parents wouldn't have wanted me to live with a guy before marraige. And I like it this way too! I think that you will be able to save alot of money, if you go home for a few moths. Also it might make everything a little more new and exciting when you are ready to move back in together. We are atcually going to live in the apartment for a few months after we are married, untill we are settled into a house.

Re: Did anyone move out
Oooooh yeah. And I was out for 14 years. It was tough, but since we had no help with paying for the wedding, we had no choice.
Thank god we were engaged for only 6 months before getting married.
