I don't know if I would of done good without any classes... I did only take 2 classes. The Infant care class, which mainly was for my DH and the one class we took that I'm glad we did was the Breastfeeding class. It was REALLY helpful. With that class and the lactaction consultant at the hospital was really helpful. If you're breastfeeding I would at least go to that class. I learned a lot.

Good question! I was wondering the same thing!! I'm not planning on BFing and I really can't see myself at Lamaze...BUT I think the infant care may be a good one.

I didn't take ANY classes! I never felt the need to shlep to the hospital on my time off and pay money to 'learn' about what millions of woman have been doing for hundreds of years before any classes came into the picture!

I read the What to Expect When You Are Expecting book that has a few chapters on labor. Also, I bought a great book called The Birth Book by W & M Sears. It gave me all the basic, well written info about the process of labor and what to expect at any given point. I highly recommend it!

I had a really great labor experience and never felt that I was missing something or should have known more about what was happening!

I took the waste of time Lamaze and have done just fine with my kiddies. Lamaze to me was a waste because I already read about everything before hand.
