Did anyone *not* use their own toasting flutes?

Is this something we *have* to do?

I don't think so. The caterer will put glasses on the table if you don't provide them.

I wasn't going to get any of my own toasting flutes, but I get some an an engagement party gift so I guess I will just use them.

We got three sets of toasting flute from three different couples at our engagement party. They were all engraved with our names. We used one set at the rehearsal dinner, one set in the limo from the church to the reception and one set at the reception.

Great idea! We also received 3 sets. I did not want anyone to feel left out not using the flutes they bought us. I love you idea. It solves the problem.

I don't think you have to. It's a nicety, not a necessity.
We don't plan to. If I got them as a gift though, I would use them.

I'm not buying them, If I get them as a gift I'll use them, otherwise we will just use what they have there.

Just be careful you don't leave them anywhere. I have heard of couples leaving the flutes at reception sites. I received them as an e gift. I plan to use them at home on our anniversary and not bring them to the Wedding.

You know I really don't get that part, why do the glasses have to drink out of your own personalized glasses, no one will notice, who pays attention to that?

Exactly. It's something the bridal industry thought up to make more money off of us, I think!

I didn't.. I didn't want to use my 300 dollar flutes and god forbid they break or I had forgotten them.. It's no biggie really..

I forgot mine. It doesn't matter much. Some
people just like to have something in their home that they used on the wedding day so they have special flutes and cake servers. If you're not very particular about the details, the halls usually have a simple version of these things that work just fine.

I plan on using mine because a very dear friend of mine gave them to us for an e-gift, but if I hadn't received them I would have used what the hall gave us.

I saw ones I liked and had FH give them to me as a Valentine's gift this year. If they had not been something that I wanted in the first place, I would do without it. I also received a set as a gift, so I have to see if I can work those in somehow!!
