I am going to have everyone paid, except the photographer and videographer on the day of.

We paid some of our vendors in full prior to the wedding and some during the day of the wedding. Our videographer we paid in full after the DVDs are done. Is your FH afraid that the vendors won't be inclined to do a good job if they already have the money?

ETA: you can always put someone else in charge of paying the vendors. We put all the payments in separate envelopes and the Best Man was in charge of paying everyone.

we paid everyone in full except for photographer, video, DJ,
my DOC handed out the payments and tip envelopes for me, if you dont have a DOC assign someone to do this for you.

I am getting married in 26 Days...and extremely panicking..LOL. I have paif for mostly everything in full, because I have been to alot of weddings and see the bride and groom running around paying instead of enjoying their party.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! The last thing that you need to worry about is paying a vendor in full and them not showing up or meeting their expectations!

What should be done:
-Set aside all of your contracts and invoices and payments, mark them individually in envelopes with their names and the amount to be received....then give them over to the Best Man or DOC who is responsible for handing out all the final payments and tips.

We paid EVERYONE in full, except hair and make-up.

It worked out fine and I had no stress.

ETA: Besides, we *had* to. All the contracts stated that payment was due 2 weeks before the wedding...not sure what the big deal is. If it's a reputable comany, why wouldn't they provide the service you contracted them for?

Some vendors require payment in full prior to the wedding day, like limos and flowers. You have to look at the contracts.

i'm not sure why it's such a big deal either.

if they are reputable, they will provide. you will have to pay them the day of anyway, so they'll receive their money no matter what.

our goal is to have everything paid except photo and video (finish paying those when we receive the final product).

I love paying ahead - but I totally agree with christine.

Our hall, limo and florist required payment in full prior to the wedding day. We paid the DJ and tips on the day of. The photographer wanted the bulk of the balance before the wedding day, and the rest when the album was ordered and then picked up.

We also had no problem with anyone not showing up, or doing what they were supposed to, and I liked not having all the stress of anyone carrying around all that cash on the day of the wedding. The only one I was worried about was the limo, since balance and gratuity were due in advance, but if worked out fine.

ETA: Most vendors, if they allow you to pay the day of, will NOT accept a credit card or check, so make sure you have enough cash if you need it - check the contract.

We paid everyone in full before the wedding except hair, makeup and everything worked out great.

As an attorney, I would advise against doing this! NEVER pay in full before you receive the service - if, for any reason, you're dissatisfied, it will be tremendously difficult for you to get your money back, and you'll end up spending more money in trying to retrieve your money either through the courts or through an attorney. It's tempting to have all the debts cleared before the wedding day, but I know from firsthand experience with a friend, it can really hurt you in the end. Example - her mother decided to pay for her dress in full before it even arrived. They ordered a Reem Acra from a very reputable salon in Philadelphia - turns out the salesperson ordered the wrong dress, and they absolutely refused to re-order or work with my friend for a solution.

My limo, hall, and florist will be paid in full. The Dj and photos don't want the full amount until the end
