Re: Did anyone read this about the Huntington Townhouse

My DH e-mailed me the story.

That's just a horrible location for condos. The traffic would be awful. I'm not just talking about traffic that would inconvenience people, I'm talking about a road that cannot handle a condo complex. I'd hate to live in that area and have an emergency or fire!

I know that we are in need of affordable housing on LI and I even supported a plan for that in my own neighborhood when other people were complaining about who would be moving in. I feel that people who need affordable housing should be able to find something other than illegal basement rentals. But I still think that the HTH location is all wrong for this!!!

Re: Did anyone read this about the Huntington Townhouse

If they build condos there, first of all, i would doubt if more than a small handful would actually be affordable! Buying a condo on LI now costs almost as much as buying a house.
I only live a few minutes from there in Melville and the traffic on jericho tpk is already bad enough and so dangerous. I am sure it will happen eventually, but i think it would take quite awhile for anything to happen
