Did anyone rethink their dress...

Original post by DNS91308

After they purchased it? I ordered in on Sunday and I came home on Sunday night and kinda freaked out about it. I called Kleinfeld on Monday morning and held the order and I am going back tomorrow to double check. Did anyone else have this problem or is this a clear sign I shouldnt buy this dress... confused...

I second guessed mine, yes. I only went to one store and tried on a ton of dresses, and there were only two I was torn between. One was more traditional and what I thought looked more like 'me' at the time - simple, elegant, not a lot of beading, etc. It was cream and champagne colored. The other was white, had a belt and a big brouch, very beaded, etc ... very NOT 'me' but was absolutely stunning and amazing. Both were gorgeous, but the white one was 'breathtaking' as my mom said. So I got that one.

But, the picture of the model in it is not flattering. I think it looks terrible in the photo. I was worrying about it for a while, but wasn't going to buy a new one - and then I went to try it on at my moms, and I was like 'oh my god, this dress is amazing.' Looks so much better on me, and especially in person, than on the model.

So -- I think this is normal, to wonder if it was the right one -- but in the end, I think when you make that decision at the store to buy it, it's usually right. :)

No. If you feel like the one you purchasesd is not 'the one' then change it, do you have a pic of the one your ordered already??

Yeah i just put it in my album, its the first one...

Its simple yet elegant, is this the look you were going for?, I see that you like that style from the pics in your album.

I hate making decisions as well, lol. I would go to the salons and look around one more time at the different gowns. Good luck!!!

Re: Did anyone rethink their dress...

i fell in love w/ my dress the 2 times i tried it on. then i started to look at other dresses on line and freaed out. i actually felt sick about it. but then i got over it. i just recently tried it on becaue it came in early and then i felt better about the whole thing. its definately normal to second guess yuor decision.

I didn't, but I think it's normal to second guess yourself about such a big decision.

I'm sort of second guessing mine, but I know I'm doing it to myself. There was a reason I chose it to begin with. Many brides second guess it. I think it's natural. My mom was looking at a wedding where the bride was wearing my second choice, and she kept saying how she loved that dress on me. Thats what got me thinking!!

First the dress doesnt look good online. (Which is also why I got nervous b/c im thinking how will it look in pictures)

Its satin with a lace overlay and there are all crystals sewn into the lace which makes is really pretty. You cant see the lace or the crystal in this picture..... Im just thinking maybe i need something more traditional...

once you go back the 2nd time you'll know...Since i bought my dress in march, i haven't doubted my choice and i still look at dresses and see them all the time on here

I sorta did the same thing when I got home. But after some thinking, and looking at my pictures in it I'm glad I didn't have to go through so much to find a dress that I liked. I had fun dress shopping but after trying on all those dresses that weighed a ton each, I'm glad I don't have to do that again!

OMG this happened to me, ordered the dress and the next day started freaking out...i ended up changing my mind!!

Re: Did anyone rethink their dress...

You can take your time with this it only takes really four to six months to get a dress in only certain dresses can take up to a year.

I don't see why people rush into buying a dress it is a big decision and such a expensive one.

After you visit it try on other gowns at teh same shop again - take a few more weeks and then put your order in. This way you have sound mind.

OMG I did the same thin and ended up not going with the dress. Twice I left money and canceled the next day. I found one last night at Kleinfelds that I loved but I'm sleeping on it for a few days.
