When the Soviet Union was trying to occupy Afghanistan in the 80s (?), the US gave millions (20-30?) - weapons, training, etc - to help the Afghani's keep the Soviet Union out of their country. We felt that the SU didn't belong there - we trained Afghani's the way CIA agents are trained - we gave them power. Then the SU fell and we kind of forgot all about Afghanistan. That's when the anger started brewing. Then, we decided to occupy Saudi Arabia - for no reason really - which is pretty hypocritical since we had helped a country prevent this from happening not 10 years earlier. This is where Osama steps in.

I understood what you meant Alicia - I just found irony in it.
