Did anyone see the brawl at the Pacers- Pistons game?

WOW.. that was nasty..

Punches thrown..
Chairs flying...
Beer-spraying....

Between players and fans...

I think sports are fun. God knows how much I love watching a good game. But the recent way athletes act is ridiculous and I'm just not talking about this...

I'll take it a step further.

Whenever any player scores or does something rough to the other team, many athletes like to dance around and pose and put on some sort of foolish showmanship.

I would be so much more boring of a player.. If I scored a touchdown, I'd hand the ball to the ref and go right back to the sideleines.. no need for an 'ice-skating' show...

If I hit a homerun, I'd put my head down adn run around the bases and not show up the pitcher by admiring the flight of the ball.

Athletes today act like fools.

Its disgusting.. and I hate when these overpaid crybaby a-holes make even bigger fools out of themselves by celebrating what they are paid to accomplish (ie. their jobs).

I don't jump around and do a dance in front of my boss when I do my job correctly.

(I'll start that the day before I retire). LOL

Re: Did anyone see the brawl at the Pacers- Pistons game?

saw the highlights on ESPN....and then I saw the suspensions given out! I saw a debate over it too...where one guy was saying that the fans were disrespecting the players.....BAH! They are in the limelight, their lives are public knowledge and therefore they should just ignore the taunts

I agree 100% At what point will the message be sent that this is NOT acceptable -- will it take someone DYING for them to realize that this behaviour is not going to be allowed with a mere slap on the wrists? Lord I hope not!

Yes I know that Artest was banned for the season.. I just think that Jackson should have gotten AT LEAST the same - the rest of the entire season as well (not 30 frikkin games)

There is a line between the fans and the athletes.. and the athletes crossed it. Period, the end. No matter how much thee fans were taunting them, throwing things at them or harrassing them - there were other ways to handle it. Pro atheletes are PAID to do a job and just deal with these potential situations (paid beyond any of our wildest dreams. might I add). So you suck up the anger , go over to your coach, get security on it - something, anything! You don't go tearing thru the crowds kicking a$$

Re: Did anyone see the brawl at the Pacers- Pistons game?

I think it got out of hand big time. If I was a player and someone taunted me..I'd let it go..its just words but if you hit me or spit on me..I'm gonna beat your A$$ or spit right back on you
