I would highly recommend seeing them in person-- as far as I know this is normal to see them live-- sure a video is great we have seen 3 of our band-- as for a CD I dont think you will get the real feel for the band--other than the fact that they sound good when there music is mixed together--
FYI-- just on a personal note-- I love our band in person so much more than the videos!!!

Did anyone see their Band before the wedding?
We saw our band - Timepiece at a showcase. I dont know if I would be comfortable booking a band witout seeing them perform. To us, the energy the band brings to the party makes all the difference. We would have gone with a DJ if we couldn't see the band perform. But thats just us, if your comfortable go with it.

We booked a band from Hank Lane without seeing them live--just the CD based solely on their reputation. I know several people that used them and had nothing but great experiences with them and our caterer highly recommended them also.

He (Eric) basically sat down with us and asked us about our music tastes and budget. From that, he recommended the Arthur Stewart band. We were quoted $5800 for a 7 piece band for the 4 hours. It was another $1150 for overtime. We did not negotiate this at all (I know, stupid!) but I have been told they will negotiate so definitely try! Let me know how it goes...

I don't know. At first I thought, wow, they really pick the band based on what your music tastes are but I have a feeling it might be based more or less on what your budget is. Just a feeling. Tell me, did they suggest a band to you before or after they asked what your budget was?

Oh, well that makes me feel a little better! Anyway, I am just going on the fact that several people have told me how great their bands are. I guess I'll find out!! When is your wedding? Where? I have heard good things about Steven Scott too so I am sure you will be fine with any choice you make.

How interesting... Maybe you should go see them and then negotiate to keep it at the original price. What band is it? Where are they playing live?
