Did anyone venture out today?

I just went out to dig out my car. I was in the right place at the right time, there was a plow cleaning up my complex and he helped me with my car. I still did a lot of work though and it is still snowing!

I went to work for a couple of hours I am back home now. Oh they will compensate me mightily for it

We went out to clear the porch, and clear off my car. The plowing service said they would be by around 8:00 tonight when they are done with the commercial accounts, so we'll be out later, to make sure it's easy to get the car out in the morning.

We also did the 'good neighbor' bit, going over to help the guy next door. He was getting his truck unburied for tomorrow morning when it got stuck, so we gave him a hand getting it out.

Years ago, when I lived alone in Michigan, I came home from work to about 10 inches of wet, heavy snow in my driveway, and it was dark and a rain-snow mix coming down. I was trying to shovel an area at the end of my driveway to try to pull the car in, when 2 guys from a few houses down, who I had never met, came over. They said they had seen me and it was no night to be out, and told me to get in the car and they would push me up the driveway. I was so grateful, and ever since then I try to pass the favor on to others whenever I have the chance.

Yeah, FH plowed the driveway, while I shoveled the back porch a bit, just to make a pathway for the dogs (there's a 4 foot snow drift that I'm not about to touch! )

FH and I went to the bank to take out some cash and saw that a tow-truck/flatbed was stuck. FH decided to be a good samaritan and help get him out. We got him out, but our truck slipped out of gear and we rolled back. The tow-truck ended up with a small crack in between the bumper & headlights and one of our rear sensors got misaligned (we only need to bang it back in place)...nothing serious since the owner of the tow-truck has an auto body shop.

Karen that is so sweet.
I stayed in with the peanut all day and spiled her rotton. I did no housework what so ever today and just played with her. I tired her out because she is out for the night at 530. So I wiill be making dinner (alone) and waiting for Joe M to come on.

I stayed home BORED out of my mind. I hope the roads are clear tomorrow, because I cant stand another day trapped in my house

I dug out my car, my moms car, and the entire driveway. Then, I had to dig out the end of the driveway from the plows so that mom could get back in. Other than that, I watched movies all day!

It is so funny to read how everyone is going stir crazy being stuck in the house for one day! I have been stuck in the house for almost 5 weeks. Before that I was stuck in the hospital for 3 weeks. I have to spend most of my time with my leg elevated and really cannot do much at all. To make matters worse we had contracted to have the kitchen and master bathroom in our house redone and the work started the day before I came home from the hospital. My husband and my son had to empty out the kitchen and rather than do it in any kind of organized way, they just put everything in boxes or whatever else they could find and just dumped it all in our living room. It was such a disorganized mess that you could not even walk into the room. Now the construction work is all done, but what a disaster to put everything back....and I can only stand up for about 45 minutes to an hour then I have to sit again for 2 hours. Talk about frustrating. So I envy all of you who can get out tomorrow. Enjoy enjoy!
