We were going to each write our own vows, but then I ran out of time. I asked DH to write our vows for us since he's a great writer. He did a great job and I didn't want to change anything about them. There are plenty of books out there that give advice on how to write your own vows. I'd do a google search to find the best ones.

As of right now... we plan to write our own vows. Since the wedding is 9 months away, i plan on writing things down in a notebook until then (things i love about him, thoughts, memories, ideas) and then i hope to just put them all together. But we'll see. There are tons of websites online that offer examples of people's vows. You'll have no problem getting ideas! Good luck!

We're planning on writing our own vows, but we're going to write them together and both say the same thing. That being said, I also did a google search and there is a ton of stuff out there. Some tips I've read about includes sitting down together and brainstorming what you want to express and what you don't, figuring out what you should leave about b/c it's too personal or the guests won't get it (i.e., I vow to do that thing I do in the shower - or something like that).

I would love to but I just can't. I'm already nervous about everyone staring at me while I recite vows - I couldn't have people stare at me while I try to read my own vows and I think I'd wind up crying and look a mess. I think I may write FI a love letter (sorta like the vows I would write) and give it to him the day of the wedding instead.

I can write my own vows, but I would be a mess. I cry while writing so this is not a good thing for me. For others it's great. I'm going traditional on this one.

We plan on doing the traditional vows 1st, and then we will both say something personalized after that. I'm going to be talking about how much we've grown together & yada yada yada.... Or we'll do it the opposite way & say the traditional vows 2nd. Good luck!
