Re: Did DH pick up any slack around the house...
To be honest, my husband has been doing his share of helping around the house since I am limited, HOWEVER, I do find that I have to tell him most of the times what needs to be done. He'll vacuum on his own, but my biggest pet peeve is a dirty kitchen floor, that he won't do on his own... the laundry I still do and some dusting - but taking out the garbage and some of the harder things he'll do...
Lately we've both been slacking though, this weekend is our weekend to CLEAN!
Why don't you set a day where you can both have jobs to do, like a cleaning day. John and I do that and that house is so fresh and nice afterwards!
Give Scotty a special job! You need help! You can't do it alone!

First time yes he was wonderful. Would go out to the store at 12:00 to get me something ot eat from the store. Second time he sucked. Since then he still doesnt want to anything. Little things. I come home and have the two kids and he refuses just to go down the blockjust to put gas in mycar so I can get the kids to bed. or something stupid like that

My DH does take out the garbage, make the bed and get my car out of the garage for me, which I appriciate. But as far cooking, dishes, laundry, vacumming, and cleaning the bathroom, I often feel everything is on me. If I specifically ask him to do a chore he will do with no problem, but it still feels like a burden when its obvious what has to be done but I still have to ask. I keep telling him that once the baby is here, he will have to help even more!

Re: Did DH pick up any slack around the house...
We have a cleaning service so the cleaning stuff gets done when she comes. Dh is definitely doing lots of house projects - he has put a ton of pressure on himself (I say some can wait awhile) to get things done. he has let me slack on cooking dinners and we get take out a little more than we use to. but I am early enough (22weeks) and feel fine so it hasn't been a issue. For the most part our routine is the same. But he gets mad sometimes when I do some stuff and I get frustrated that he doesn't let me do some stuff.
Old Wives Tale - Dh helping around the house means boy. Dh slacking means girl - for what that's worth.

DH has always been very good since the beginning. I cook, do the laundry and clean the floors. DH will do everything else. I don't even think I've touched the vacuum cleaner since I've been married. I took it out the other day and had it yanked out of my hand by my DH...He says he 'loves' to vacuum.

DH has been doing almost everything around the house. His mother told him that I shouldn't be around household cleaners or even carrying bags of groceries or the laundry basket. He was there when the doctor told me that I could do all that stuff, but he thinks his mom is right. Who am I to argue?

DH has been doing almost everything around the house - cleaning, cooking, laundry - you name it. I help out when I can, but I've been extremely tired so far (which I hope will end soon) so he just tells me to rest. We'll see if he keeps it up the entire nine months!

....sorry - I had to laugh.....my FH do housework I love him to death, but he doesn't do housework but in his defense I am a stay at home Mom (and he owns his own business and works P/T as a cop so he's a little busy) so I don't really expect him to, but a little help would be nice...

Yep, I got Chris to clean the bathroom too, he walked out of the bathroom with a bottle of cleaner and I asked what he was doing, when his response was cleaning, I lost my breath for a minute!!!

Thats sooo funny. I have to BEG Derek to do it. I think I would be on the floor as well if he got the ambition to do it on his own.
