I didnt get one this yr. I dont need that do I? or can I just show my license?

I'm confused about this also. I moved and didn't get a card at our place or my parents. I got one for previous elections..

I dont' think I've ever gotten a postcard to vote, so don't worry if you haven't received one. I also don't think you need ID, but it never hurts to have it on you, just in case. If you aren't sure where to vote, I'd call the local town hall to see where your name is listed. If you've moved recently, you might have to vote at your previous location, but again, your local town hall would probably have a better answer than I.

i've never gotten a postcard to vote. when i voted in the primaries this year i didn't need id, but i would bring in anyway. who knows what kind of mood they'll be in tomorrow.

I was worried b/c I am at a new address. I called the Queens county board of elections and I am not registered to vote in Queens. The lady at the Queens number said I am probally stil registered there for some reason. Gonna try Nassau in a few minutes.

Well, just got off the phone with Nassau County and wow what a b!atch she was.

Bottom line is since something happened with my registration in Queens and I no longer live in Nassau I can not vote.

I live in Suffolk and got a post card back in August/September letting me know where I should go to vote. I vote every year, and I don't ever remember them asking for a license - just for you to confirm your address and sign the sheet next to your name.

I cant reach the suffolk # in Yaphank for the board of elections...the number has been busy for HOURS!!!

We recently moved FH and I both registered at the same time (sent it in the same envelope) and I got a postcard and he didn't get one. He called and they said it's fine he is registered. So I don't think u need it.

I got mine about a month or so ago telling me where to vote.

I think they send one card per household - though it may be addressed to one person, if you look closely, you'll see the other registered voters who live in the same household.

Everyone in my house got a postcard, we all moved here last December and had to re-register. I'm just concerned because my lisence does not have my new address on it and I don't get many bills in the mail, everything I do is online. I guess I'll just bring that postcard and see what happens. I'm sure it'll be fine.

A voter registration card you are suppose to get it it tells u where to go. I had to go today to get one from the board of elections I needed it for work I get paid for the day but had to prove i am registered voter. U do not need it to Vote. we even asked the lady today.

I know that if you are a first time voter in NY you should have ID. .

thank you so much, I moved about 3 yrs ago and I never sent my new address to the board of elections. My FH got a postcard but he just registered. On the news they said to bring your license or any photo id just in case. also they said something about if we dont vote in the machine our paper ballot may not count. - I didnt get the whole story though. welp I guess I will try the same place with my FH and if im not registered there then I will go to where I voted in the past, someone has to have me on their sheet, lol. I hope, lol.

I've always been asked for a photo ID when I voted. I can't see how they can let anyone vote without one (unless they have access to the DMV's system and can view our license/ID photos.)
