Did I block too many rooms??

Ok, what's the average # of rooms typically blocked off??
FH & I live in NJ as do the majority of our guests. Only a handful of people are actually from LI.
We are inviting around 220 guests and expect about 190 to attend.
I blocked off 30 rooms (that includes the bridal suite for us & rooms for bridal party) at the Hyatt Windwatch for our wedding night.
Do you think that's too many? I've been so confused over how many rooms I'll need

This is what I think........Its better to block off too many than not enough.

ditto I blocked 20, and I'll only need 12-15

The Hyatt Windwatch has such a great policy.. I think its ten nights total need to be stayed in? It really cant hurt you to block that many, as long as ten nights are booked.

Exactly what I was going to say...That hotel has been great to work with so far!

I think that is fine. We blocked off 60 rooms just in case and the hotel will just release the ones that we don't use if they don't hear of anything within the week of the wedding.
Already 13 rooms have been booked because of people getting stds

Most hotels want at least 5 blocked for the discount.. You did fine.. I blocked off 35 and I think I only need 10, but you never know.. To many is better then not enough

So true - TOO MANY IS BETTER THAN NOT ENOUGH. I think I have about 40 rooms and I might oly use about 15 - but you never know - Everyone might decide to come

I blocked off 25 rooms and most of my guests are OOT including my FH and I. I am putting on the hotel cards in the invite like I did for the STD that there is a limited number of rooms available. Its up to everyone to book their rooms and book them early. If they don't book them early enough then they might not get a discount rate

oh phew thanks for all the advice and reassurance girls!!!

btw the Hyatt is beautiful!!! FH and I were very impressed! We have the exective suite blocked for us. Can't wait!!!
