Did I do the right thing??

Did I do the right thing??

I need your opinions...

My FI got laid off of his (very good paying) job last Monday. He's doing the whole unemployment thing, and is searching and searching, but in the mean time he went to a pizza place that he used to work for years ago (and stayed friendly with the owner) to see if he could pick up some hours.
They called last week to see if he could work a night, but we were going to the Kiss/Aerosmith concert, so he said he couldn't. They called tonight to see if he could work tomorrow, and I know he has any appt. with Stony Brook college to find out about going back to school. I can't get in touch with him (he's at The Dead concert) and the pizza people had to know by 10pm tonight. I called them back and said he'd work. I figure if he tells these people no again, they may never call him, and the Stony Brook appt can be rescheduled since he wouldn't be able to start school until January (if he even goes back)
Do you think I made the right decision???

I think I would have made the same decision. I DEF. would have feared them not calling back again. Take it from someone who graduated from SB, it can be rescheduled! He'll understand.

you DEFINITELY made the right decision. in this economy, with so many people out of work, you can't risk pi$$ing off an employer. if the other appointment can be rescheduled, you definitely did the right thing.
