I have a problem. My priest left a message on my machine commenting about the ceremony time for the wedding. My ceremony is at 3:30 and I put 3:00 on the invitations because my Mom's family is NOTORIOUS for showing up late. Some family members were late 1hr to my bridal shower! The problem is that there is a baptism at 2pm at my church and I didn't know! Am I worrying over nothing? Even if I had put 3:30 on the invite, wouldn't I have to arrive at the church early? How early should I be there anyway? What got me is that the priest told me last month that he could start early...around 3:15.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've been to plenty of weddings, baptisms, etc. at churches where I've actually had to wait outside! And baptisms don't usually last over an hour. You were right to do that and force people not to come at the last minute.

I agreee. I wouldnt worry. The baptisms shouldnt run past the hour and if some guest have to wait outside or at the back of the church thats fine. We've all done that.

I am sure the preist is concerned with your guests interupting the baptism.
Can you have someone there to let your guests know that the ceremony starts later and direct them to a waiting space outside the church?
As a guest I would be p!ssed because not only would I be attending your wedding, I would be catching the baptism as well.

don't worry about it - we woudn up someohow missprinting our reception invites! yikes - it started at 6:30 not 6 - but no one was ever the wiser - we had arragned for a pre-cockatial hr anyway so everyone enjoyed that! don't worry - people could always assume that the chritening ran over.....and they might be late nayway but then will be in time for your wedding!!!
