Here is a pic of my veil. I have no idea what 'length' it is considered. I was charged $575 for it. It has floral detail along the edge (crystal, I think). I was also charge $50 for the blusher.
It is my own fault...I thought it would be easier to choose one while I had the dress on...but I feel like I paid way too much. (Especially since she rang me up with it and didn't tell me how much it was beforehand)

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
Your veil is a cathedral like mine is. I paid $275 but yours is gorgeous!! I don't have any pics but mine has very small beading along the edge. Can you cancel the order but I think if you really love it you should keep it b/c it is beautiful. I got mine from Phyllis at Bridal Elegance.

Do not get upset I did not get the veil yet, but even if you overpaid a little, it is not worth worrying about it now!
It is beautiful!

IMHO- Yes! But if you have the money- why not?
I don't even really want a veil- only wearing it for the ceremony, so I wouldn't pay that much...but if you love it....
Your veil cost a few hundred less than my gown!

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
Well my dress was significantly less than what I had originally budgeted, so I think that is why it didn't seem too bad at the time. Not upset over it 'cause I love the veil with the dress...Just curious more than anything!

My veil was 400. But I love it, and it's not half as beautiful as yours. So in my opinion...no you didn't pay too much.

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
I'd have to agree with the others.. but then again that might be because we have a smallll budget... mine is finger-tip length and cost $180 and I had a harrrdd time paying that. But like you, I figured it was easiest to just get the veil while I had the dress on...but now that I think about it I am sure I could have found the same one, or one just as nice for under $100.
But really, its all relative to what your budget is I think.

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
The real question is do you love it? And can you afford it?
If both answers are yes then it doesn't matter! The must be kept happy!

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
Veils come in all prices. If it is the one you love and you can afford it then who cares what other people spend? Some people spend $99 on a wedding gown, some spend $9000. They only way you over paid is if another shop is selling the same veil for less! It is really pretty though!

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
I don't think you over paid because of the detail. I ordered a veil very similar to yours and it cost me 280 - If you don't pay for the detail on the back of the dress - you pay for it on the veil. The extra charge is the lace throughout your dress.

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
it's hard to say if you overpaid or not.
Some veils are made with really inexpensive poly tulle, some are made with high quality poly tulle, and the best are made of silk. Also, some are hand done, while others are mass produced... The cost differences are huge....
My veil is the same length as yours, and is more ornate, but is made from a good poly, not silk. I paid a bit over $300.
If you love your veil, and can afford it, it's the right veil for you. If you paid for a silk veil with hand embroidery, the question to ask yourself is 'does this matter to me, or would a simple veil suffice?'

Re: Did I Overpay? (Veil)
I think that is too pricey, but if you liked it that is all that matters. I searched around and got mine for 89 with bead work and blusher. I just want to add some more beadwork so I will take to Barrons and it will be like probably 30 more bucks.
If you feel like you overpaid see if you can take it back or cancel.
We all have overpaid for something in the whole wedding planning.
