to sink in that you were engaged? I feel like the first few days were unrealistic. Like i was trying to be the blushing bride. Not to say that I wasnt happy, i think it just totally was not sinking in. I would look at my finger and see this ring and it just didnt sink in like, 'wow, this is mine!!'. Now that 2 wks have gone by, the excitement and 'realism' is setting in and Im so thrilled and overjoyed!! Its weird. I felt this EXACT same feeling when i first got hired 7 yrs ago at my teaching job. The day I actually got the job, i was like in a daze and I had a pounding headache. The same thing happened after my engagement, the first few days at work, when people came over to congratulate me I was like... I dunno...not myself.
Thoughts??

Yea I was up on cloud 9 for quite awhile, still am really. I don't think it actually hit until people started asking me if we booked a place yet. That's when I snapped into reality that I had a lot of work ahead of me and we better get started!

Yes I know what you mean. I still look down at my finger not believing that it's my ring and I have been engaged since the beginning of Nov. I actually can't believe I am planning my own wedding. It like doesn't feel real. I think when It's my wedding day and I have my gown on I will then realize that its ME that's getting married.

Yep I would say the exact same thing! (except I got engaged in Dec.)

yes i know EXACTLY how you feel!!!
that feeling lasts for about a month i think. then u start the planning and it is all downhill from there. I have been engaged over 4 months and i am back to my normal old self again!

It is still sinking in for me. Sometimes I have these outbursts (it actually happened at work the other day), and I start getting real loud and giddy - 'I'm GETTING MARRIED!!!!' It happens whenever I get a bunch of people around me to talk wedding.
Now that the epartyis almost here, it has really started to sink in.

Yes it did...I would giggle everytime I refered to him as my fiance....I would look at my ring and just couldn't believe that it happened. It has sunk in now I think
