Did a lot of stuff with my younger sister (getting married May 23), my older sister (co-MOH) and mom this weekend. We went to Barrons and we got great service. My sister must have tried on almost every headband they had in the place and at least 10 different veils, but we helped her choose the right one.
Her dress came in last week and she tried it on. The people at the store must have brought her $2,000 worth of accessories, but she was very level headed and while she tried everything on, knew she would be going someplace cheaper for everything.
We gave the deposit for the hair and make-up trials.
We finalized almost everything for the shower in March and we are just waiting for the RSVPs to finish coming in. I feel bad because alot of people my sister wanted there have responded 'no'.
Bachelorette party planning is just starting. I know she wants AC, but I think alot of people are not going to be able to afford it. She said a night out in the city is OK by her, but I know she really wants to stay over in AC, so I have to try and find something reasonable.
Well, that's all. I wish the other BMs could pull their heads out of their butts because they really's haven't helped with anything. My sister and I have done all the legwork and planning.
The BMs dresses are in and I guess I get to try it on this week. I'll look like a bottle of pepto Bismal, but it's OK because it is the color my sister wants.

That's great that you got so much done. Just a quick question though. You say that the other BM's haven't done anything. Have you asked for their help? The reason I'm asking is because when my best friend got married, her MOH (sister) took care of everything and didn't ask any of us to help out. Then after the shower, she complained to her sister (my friend) that none of the BM's helped out with anything. We were like 'she never asked!' In fact, I didn't even know about the shower until I got the invitation in the mail!

No, my sister and I have tried to get them involved. We did the legwork for the shower and got prices and info for 6 different places, typed it all up in an e-mail and sent it to them. Responses were 'whatever you think is best'. In fact, the only response we've gotten from them was how much they can afford to contribute.
We tried to have a meeting this past month with all of us and we got alot of excuses about being too busy to come. They didn't even answer their phones. We've tried to delegate flowers, favors, cookies, etc, and most of them are like 'I don't know where to go for that' or 'I don't have the money to lay out for that.'
I don't really mind having to do it all because we know our sister best, but I will freak if any of them later on say they cannot afford to chip in their share, or throw a fit about something not being the way they wanted. As far as I am concerned, if you are not going to contribute before the event you have no right to complain afterwards if it wasn't to your liking.

Then I'm really sorry to hear that your sister's BM's s*ck. Hey, as long as you're doing what you're supposed to do, I'm sure you'll sister will realize who really cares in the end.

Re: Did my MOH duties this weekend....
Yeah, I really don't care much. I just want her to have a special day. I'm not going to let her know about all this and have it ruin it for her.
but I think she already has an idea about some of it because they are already complaining about the cost to get hair and makeup done, on top of the cost of a dress.
She's not even making them get it done - she said IF THEY WANT, otherwise they can do it themselves. But I feel like the morning of the wedding is supposed to be all the women sitting together, getting ready together. Not everyone showing up 1/2 hour before hand ready to go.
