Did taking pictures before the ceremony affect your pictures?

Did taking pictures before the ceremony affect your pictures?

What I mean to ask is: since you weren't married yet and were probably still nervous about walking down the aisle, did your nervousness show in your pictures? Or did taking the pictures beforehand relax you so that you weren't nervous going down the aisle? When I mean nervous, I mean in the sense that you don't want to trip and fall, and you aren't used to being the center of attention. Not that you're nervous about marrying FH! Thanks!

I don't know because I haven't had my wedding yet...but I was thinking the same thing (we are doing pics before) FI is so shy and is so nervous about the ceremony part...I would hate to think that it will show through in our pics.

This is from observation, but of course it may not be true in all cases...I think the pictures look better AFTER the ceremony. The bride and groom have this blissful 'just married' glow that is just so beautiful. A lot of the pics I;ve seen from before the ceremony there's a lto of nervousness and it's not the exact same type of joy, you know? I'm sure either way can work out fine... but in the thank yous I've gotten from family and so forth, the before ceremony photos have been really blah compared to the after ceremony photos. of course that could just5 be a fluke!

We took pictures before the ceremony and a little bit after, and to be honest, we can't tell the difference at all. We were just excited and happy all day and it shows. People have liked both sets of pictures, and they don't know which one was taken when. We actually really like the fact that we took most of the pictures before the ceremony, because we had more time to spend with our guests, and we were not nervous at all by the time we did the ceremony.

Yea I do agree about having somewhat of a blissful glow after the ceremony.... but we do want to be able to spend the CH with our guests so maybe I'll do my best to try and project a pre-wedding glow (FI may be a ball of nerves though)....Thanks for both of your imput though

I guess its okay if you have that 'I'm sooo excited, we're getting married!!' look instead of the blissful just married look.

Well it was weird for me because my friend took pics before her ceremony BUT her ceremony was at 730 so all the pics before are in bright daylight and her ceremony pics are at dusk..

THat something to think about as well.

Oh, ours is at 5:30 in June, so we'll be fine in that respect. But yeah, I never thought of that issue.

I was really glad to have the formal pics done before the ceremony. Our pics look different only because they were posed formal shots and not candids. Most of the pics taken after the ceremony were candids and show a different side of us an our expressions.

I would highly recommend it. I wanted to take part in my cocktail hr. To me that's the best food!

i thik it helped us with nerves actually. at least it calmed dh down b/c he was so scared. so he had me to calm him down and that way, he was able to 'be in' the ceremony. and the first 2-3 pictures show his nervousness.

The ones that I took with myself, bridesmaids and family before the wedding looked great because I wasn't nervous. Coming down the aisle on the other hand- I look like I had a bannana up my butt.
