did the drug and background check - not as bad as I thought

i have to call on monday and get my badge.

all they did today was the cup thing for the drug test. i made sure to drink plenty of water before i left the apartment this morning. (the only thing i didnt remember was when they asked me have i taken any medication in the last month. I dont remember if i took any scripts. I am guessing if i didnt remember then i didnt take them. I did however tell them i have a bad back and these are the things i take for it, but in the last month i dont remember if i took anything. the woman told me no problem just list on the form that you may have taken a prescript drug but you just dont remember when)

so that was not a problem. I know I passed the drug test with flying colors.

Then I got finger printed. Which wasnt bad. It was just a pain to get that black ink off my fingers.

The background check is to do a criminal background check. The finger prints will be used to do an FBI check to make sure I am not a criminal, on the FBI's most wanted list and that I have not embezzled or done any illegal financial activity.

so not as bad as i thought.

FYI: Background checks take between 4-6 weeks. So if you took your drug test today, the results are probably not back until Sept. Make sure you dont lie on your application - even over something small. We have had to term people after finding a very minor infraction on their background check which would have been fine if they had only told the truth about it. If we find out that they lied about anything on the app, we have to term no matter what.

when the background check was done on me it only took a week at the most, and that was a criminal check as well as a finacial check.

Stef thanks. I am not worried at all.

This is a temp job though. Even though its a temp position they still had to do a check because I will be in this office and doing a lot of stuff.

Oh, BTW, that fingerprint ink comes off just by rubbing it away with your other fingers.

not too shabby! I am glad it was relatively painless!

and yes, that black ink sux... I had to get printed a few years ago b/c I am my brother's guardian & they have to register you & some stuff...... I had to take pumice & Lava soap to get it off!
