I was just looking over our contract and check in time is at 3pm while our ceremony is at 5pm. Do you think we should block off rooms for the night before as well or would it be pointless. There isn't much of a discount offered, if any.

I did my block for friday and sat since we have a lot of ot guests and I know his aunt said she wanted to be here the day before.

I think especially if you have OOT guests, that booking the night before is probably a good idea. It can't hurt right? Unless your hotel is making you cover the cost if a certain number of rooms don't get used.

We did night of only. I figured it's a Friday wedding and it's not until late, no one is coming in Thursday. HTH!

I blocked the night before and the night of... Only cause I know a few people may utilize it. I wanted to block off rooms for Sunday night for people who wanted to make a weekend out of it (its memorial day weekend) but the rate went up like $50 for that night so I didn't. It might be a smart idea to do so. There is no obligation so even if you did it and one perons utilized it, it would have been worth it.
Also, I once went to a Friday night wedding in RI for a college friend and I stayed over Thursday night to get ready for her Friday wedding and then drove home after the wedding because of obligations Saturday morning on LI.. so there are all types of scenarios, doesn't hurt to be prepared, especially when it's at no risk to you.

We will be doing both nights since we have OOT guests coming from far away and there would be no way they would make it if they came the day of! They would have to leave ridiculously early to get there on time and would be pretty tired for the wedding.

do you have a lot of OOT guests? since all of my FH's guests are coming in from PA and some are coming from FL, we blocked rooms for friday and saturday night

we are getting married on a friday.. I blocked rooms for thur friday saturday.. we have a lot of OOT guest.. all my fam will come in probably late thur and not take the day so they will need a room and stay till sunday

We did most rooms for the night before and maybe 3 for even earlier. The bridal party and my parents will be here on Tues or Wed and our wedding in on friday. OOT guest will propbably come in the day before.
