Re: Did you decorate your hallway/s?
I haven't repainted them yet and don't plan to for a couple months (they are in decent shape) but I just started doing some decorating on the downstairs hall.
On one wall I have my Pottery Barn collage frames with lots of pictures.
On another wall by the door I bought a thing from Pottery barn with a mirror, hooks and ledge to put mail or something like that.
I just bought a sofa table for the end of the hall this weekend. I will decorate it with frames and other pretty stuff. I wanted to put shelves over it but I had an issues with matching woods..so I may just go with art over it. I don't want to do a mirror because i have too many in my house.
So all that leaves just the big wall - no clue what I will do there yet. Have not touched the upstairs hall at all....

Re: Did you decorate your hallway/s?
I painted the hallway the same color as the living room (tate olive) so I put these two paintings that my aunt/uncle gave me from Colombia.. it looks perfect there.

Re: Did you decorate your hallway/s?
I LOVE colorful and sometimes need a kick in the butt to go out on a limb and try something more bold.
We're in process of repainting several rooms and my hallyway is on the list. I want something 'different' and colorful/creative and not bland and plain and traditional....
Marcella that looks gorgeous! and your kitchen in the other post looks sooo nice also. Post some more pics of your house, looks so colorful and fun! Is it a contemporary home?

Re: Did you decorate your hallway/s?
the pic is so dark. is that olive green?
My living room right now is olive, and the ceiling is a very light shade of the same color family, and the couches are a deep olive. I tried to play with the same colors, and then I was going to do window treatments/accessories to throw a different splash of color in.... we'll see.
I TOTALLY agree, its amazing what color can do. Its so powerful and can do so much !

Marcella - so pretty. You have such great taste - can you come over and decorate my house b/c I've given up.
And no, I have not decorated my hallway b/c of the setup of the house. There isn't a lot of wall space b/c all the 3 bedrooms, 2 closets and bathroom are all down in a row.
I would like to replace all the doors w/ raised panel ones with a nice molding around them along with a nice crown molding around the ceiling - eventually.

Re: Did you decorate your hallway/s?
Definetly decorate hallways. I decorate anything that can be decorated - my favorite is bathrooms...but I digress.
Haven't painted the L shaped hallway...but the walls are lines with museum frames and at the end of the L is a console table with 2 Mapplethorpe prints above it.
Would love to paint the walls a rich red but the doofus who lived in the apt before us painted with an oil-based paint. If I owned, I would take on the project...
