Did you ever do something stupid
and realize after that it could have been a lot worse?
We have no hot water today so the super came up twice today to light the pilot light. A little while ago there still was no hot water so I called the emergency lineand they say that they would get in touch with the super or somebody. I ran out to throw the garbage out and as I was coming in, I hear the phone ringing. I pushed the door and ran up to get the phone. The guy says that here will be here in a couple of hours to check out the water heater. 10 min later I hear a knock on the screen door and it doesn't sound muffled like it usually does. I look downstairs at my front door which is wide open (screen door only closed not locked) and there is a guy standing there. As I was walking down slowly I realized that it was the super.
DH doesn't get home until late and I am sitting here like a schmuck, at night, alone with my door wide open.![]()
BTW, I have checked that the door was closed and locked 3 times in the past 45 min since the incident![]()
