Did you exchange gifts for your One Year Anniversary?
Just wondering... I would like to buy DH something nice but I'm not sure what! Did anyone else buy their DH something or go somewhere special?

We're going to Aruba. We usually do a nice trip in December instead of exchanging Christmas gifts so this year we're doing it for our anniversary instead.

Not sure...probably something small that goes with the whole 'paper' tradition thing. We are also spending a long weekend in DC to celebrate.
DH's 30th is in December so I'm planning a surprise party and a secret trip to Italy so funds will be a little short in November - which DH won't know so I'll have to figure something out!

We did not exchange gifts. We bought cards and went out to dinner.

DH pointed out this duffle bag he liked in Hugo Boss so I think I might go & get it soon and keep it for his gift so that incase (because I think he might) he surprises me with tix to FL then he will have something to carry his clothes down in (since he likes carry-ons, hates to check luggage!) lol.

We are going on a Cruise to the Mexican Riviera for our 1 year. I was planning on getting him a Water proof Digital Camera or a Massage on the cruise ship.

The night before we went to dinner at the restaurant in our RH and exchanged cards. I made him a scrapbook of our first married year together and he pre-ordered the last Harry Potter book for me (it wasn't his fault it came out a month after our anniversary, he knew I really wanted it!!).
For our actual anniversary we cooked a nice dinner together, sat by candlelight, drank wine from our wedding night, and listened to a CD of music from our wedding, then had a piece of our wedding cake.

We bought each other our dining room set but DH surprised me with it. I gave him a shadowbox with a poem & a picture of our first dance..we did dinner also

For our 1 year anniversary we spent the weekend upstate in Saratoga/Lake George. I bought him a guitar (he had mentioned that he always wanted to learn how to play) and he bought me a Past Present Future diamond necklace.

We did not exchange gifts. We went out to dinner on our acutal anniversary, then came home and had some champagne with our wedding cake.
A few days later we left for an anniversay trip to Mexico.

You are going to LOVE Aruba!!!!! We went for our honeymoon. That's a fabulous first yr. anniversary gift!
