Did you girls figure your wedding rings into Budget?

Yeah, I did but I don't think I budgeted enough $$$. My e-ring is platinum and I know FH wants platinum so I don't know what we are going to do when the time comes.... Anyone know how much simple platinum bands go for?

NO!!! I think we might just get plain bands for now and then for our 1 year I might ask for an 'upgrade'

We didn't exactly budget but it was on our list of things we had to save up and pay for.

We did....we didn't spend a fortune, but this was very important to me. These are rings we are going ot have for the rest of our lives...the flowers will be dead the next day...the food at the reception will be gone...the band/DJ will be at another affair. The rings are so special...cut something else out or downgrade something that people will not notice...do not skimp on you wedding bands!!!!

I completely agree...which is what I am trying to convince FH of....(Not that I want to spend alot but he thinks they should be about $250 each) I think he knows I will win! he's just not ready to concede.

We budgeted for them, but went over budget!
JimmysBride: check out www.e-weddingbands.com. They have plain platinum bands starting at $140. I was originally going to get a plain platinum band from them, but I decided I wanted a diamond band so I purchased from www.oromi.com.

Not included in the budget, we we are buying the rings sort of as an anniversary/birthday present to eachother also. So the money we would normally spend on anniversary and birthday we will use towards rings. Mine will probably cost a little more though.

Your date is 2005, no? I'm sure if you put aside $ (even a tiny bit but on a regular basis) by the time your wedding comes you'll have money saved! Don't stress it. Anyway, more important than how much it costs, is finding THE RING for you.

That is the only thing I over budgeted for. I think the weding bands are as important as THE DRESS. Defintely don't skimp on the wedding bands

I'm really bad at budgeting for anything. Every time I try to I get told 'It's you WEDDING DAY you should have it exactly as you want to and not worry about the money'. We figured out the important things first and then figured out ways to save on other things (centerpieces, favors, etc...) by my FMIL and I doing a lot of stuff. But we didn't budget money for our rings at all and we're going to look this weekend. I might use my grandmothers wedding band- (she died when I was 7 and was basically my idol growing up).

Oops - no we didn't, either - and I think that's going to bite us in the a**. I keep having nightmares that we forget to buy it altogether. My e-ring is platinum, also, and FI wants a platinum but I don't know if that will happen realistically. I think the band for my e-ring was about $700 but I'm not too sure. I think we may go for the plain band this year and 'upgrade' next year. I don't know -bleecch!
