Yes, the PO hand cancelled each and every invite I've sent out!

Yes, we dropped them off & they hand cancelled them. It supposedly keeps the envelopes from getting tour/tattered, however, there are other machines the letters still go through.

I think it'll be fine either way.

yes, we didnt want them to go through the machine. We had bows on our invites

Nope. I planned on it, but once I got to the post office I just wanted to get them out.

no, I did not see any reason to-
1) they are going to go through a bunch of machines anyway for sorting
2) does any one REALLY look at the envelope? i know I never do.

We did. We went to a random post office when they were an hour away from closing on a Friday night (so it wasn't busy at all). We gave them to the lady and left but asked that she hand cancel them and she did.

we did b/c there was a slight buldge in the middle of the envelope and I didn't want any machine mishandling them! I spent 3 hours putting them together - I wanted them to arrive at their destination as nicely as I put them together.

we hand cancelled and it didn't matter. my invites got to my brothers house like it had been run over by a large, dirty truck
