I'm an extremely anxious person. I need to know that all my plans will be executed the way I want them to be and I really didn't want my bridal party or family to have to worry about that. This way not only can I relax but all of my closest friends and family can too. Cheeky Details is AMAZING btw! Highly recommend!!

I am going to use one just so I can relax when it gets closer to the wedding. I want someone else to worry to make sure all the vendors are on time.

I was curious about this myself. Why did you girls decide to book a DOC? Wouldn't their role essentially be the same as the maitre d and manager at the venue? Wondering what you're most looking forward to them providing the day of the wedding?

My ceremony is at 1130 and we r doing reveal before so if I got one I would want them to help w timeline making sure everyone is ontime. We also have coach buses for all our out do own guests. The little serials set up exactly how I want. And must important for me is handing out money I don't want any one else to have to be responsible for it

I don't know if this is the right way to think about it. And don't get me wrong because my Manager has been soooo amazing. But in my mind the matre d and manager work for the hall and the DOC works for me.

I wasn't really sure what their role was either. I am meeting with a potential DOC also. From what I was reading of what they offer, they will make the final contact with all the vendors the week of your wedding and make sure they all follow your timeline. If their are any issues, the DOC will handle it. I usually feel organized but for some reason as I am booking more vendors, I am feeling uneasy that something could potentially go wrong.

I'm not- I personally feel they are a complete waste of money. Every vendor contacts you the week of and handles everything with you ahead of time. Everything like favors placecards card box etc. is brought to the RH a day or two before and your Maitre D (or however you spell it) is responsible for setting everything up for you. If you have good Maitre D you don't need a DOC, because they essentially do the exact same job.
The only thing that is somewhat annoying is handling the tips. But you label them ahead of them and put the $ inside ahead of time, and give all of the envelopes to someone in the BP who is really repsonsible. My dad is going to hold all of the envelopes and hand them out for me.

Tomorrow I am meeting with Once Upon An Event and I'm still in the process of setting up an appointment with A Modern Day Affair. They seemed the most reasonably priced.

I watched my aunt run around during my cousin's wedding to make sure all the details were right. She was constantly talking to the banquet manager about what needed to be changed or fixed. She didn't appear to enjoy herself and it never stopped the whole night. The week before, she spent every minute finalizing things and calling to confirm.
I just didn't want this for my mom, moh or me. I want to have a point person who is not family or friends to make sure everything is right and troubleshoot any issues that arise so that my friends, family, myself and FH can just enjoy the day!
That's why I hired a DOC!

I'm using one b/c my venue is a vineyard, so they don't specialize in weddings. FI and I are picking all the vendors on our own and doing all the legwork ourselves. So when the day of our actual wedding arrives, I don't want to have to worry about vendors being late, the tables not being arranged correctly, etc. I am using Lindsey from Elite Glamour Events of NY. She's sweet, smart, and very reasonably priced.

This is the exact reason why I'm getting a DOC. this person is going to be all about ME and nothing else. I know the bridal attendants and maitre'd should have the same outlook, but i feel like they will do just what they're asked w/out going the extra mile.
