I am now 30+ weeks pregnant and was hoping that I would have one last sonogram since the baby really didn't cooperate too much when we had the last one at week 20. The doctor today told me I wouldn't, that it wasn't routine, unless there was a problem. I thought sometimes they did it around week 36 to get an estimated weight, etc. For those of you who have had babies already, if you wouldn't mind answering my poll, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes, I am having one in 3 more weeks (i'll be 36 weeks) to determine size, position etc...

I had one with my son when I was about 37 weeks, to determine size, positioning, etc as well.

I had one at 32 wks but it was only to make sure my low lying placenta had moved up.

I had one scheduled close to my due date because the Dr's were concerned about the babies weight. I ended up going into labor that day so the sonogram didn't happen needless to say

My dr. said the same thing - no more sonograms unless there is a problem.

I am 29 weeks and am having one done at 32 weeks. Everything is fine with me. Dr. says its routine.

I had my last sono at 20 weeks and was told that was my last one until the end to determine size/positioning unless there is a problem.

I am having one at 34 weeks b/c of low lying placenta but wouldn't have had one otherwise

I had one at 16 weeks and that is it. Unless there is a need for another one due to complications my doctor only does one per pregnancy.

I just found out last week that I am having one next week just to determine size, position. I will be 36 weeks then.

I will be 37 weeks next week and I am getting my final sonogram to determine the weight. That is normal practice at my drs. office. Some people have told me that sometimes the technicians are wrong on the weight. I went a month ago for a sono and I was told my baby weighted 4 and a half pounds. She was considered two weeks ahead of schedule. I hope when I go next week she is within normal limits.

Me too. They determined the placenta had moved up, but we also found the baby was still breech. So I had another one at 36 weeks, then gave birth to him at 37 weeks.

I had one at 40 and 41 weeks to determine size and make sure everything was still ok since baby had no intentions of ever leaving the womb!
He had to be escorted out at nearly 42 weeks.

I had quite a few towards the end because of breech and having an external version. They also gave me one at admittance to the hospital to confirm Gabriella hadn't flipped back to breech. I don't know if I would consider breech a true problem though...
