Who had an after party and were you tired by the end of the day? My reception ends at 11:30 and I'm debating whether or not to have one. I might be too tired, I have to wake up at 7am the day of and crashing on my mom's couch the night before.

My reception ended at 5ish. My MOH and her husband hosted a huge after party at their house. We went for a little while and then took off for our 'honeymoon' - a single night at the Hyatt!
The rest of the guests stayed until early morning.
I don't think I would have done an after party if my reception wasn't in the afternoon.

We went back to the hotel bar after the reception ended at 12:30. It was mostly our friends and some family. We stayed until the bar closed around 2am.

I went to the bars down by the water in Port Jefferson I had so much fun I went to the hotel around 5am

Yes we did. Wedding ended same time 11:30 than we hand picked like 20 25 p max to stay after by the bar at the Inn. It was lovely except too many stayed too long b/c we didn't have the transportation worked out properly and they tried crashing our Bridal suite I had to personally call them all cabs and they finally got out about 2:30 but our breakfast was not until 10:00 am. I advise you to just make sure you have arranged for a clean get away and or transportation for your guest to leave if they have had too much to drink.

Thank you for your help girls. We're going to plan for an after party, FH wants one. I might crash early, he can hang out with the guys. And good advice about the transportation.

My wedding ended at 1 am & we didn't have an afterparty. Everyone was pretty tired (including me!) and I don't think anybody would have stuck around for it.
But if your crowd would be up for it, I think it's a great idea!

We were at the hall until about 1:30-2:00, then we went to one of the GM's rooms in the hotel that we were all staying in...it wasn't an 'official' after party- but there were about 30 of my and DH's friends (along with us!) drinking in the best man's hotel room until after 3:00...when I had to wake up DH and remind him to go to bed with his wife!

Our reception ended at 1am...we were SO tired...there was no after party...not even for DH
Our reception ended at 1:00 am, and we did have a mini after party. We got back to the hotel after 2 (our limo company f^cked up big time), and some of our bridal party and close friends (and parents ) joined us in our suite for drinks.

We definitely had one. Our reception was from 1pm to 6pm. So my in-laws booked a meeting room at the hotel where we had rooms and everyone went there and partied until like 2 in the morning. DH and I left the afterparty at like 10 so we could do our own thing. It was the best idea ever and everyone loved it!

no we didn't.... our reception ended at 12:30am we stayed at a hotel nearby with some family... but we were all too tired to hang at the bar... i didn't get to sleep until 3:30am as it was once i took out all my hair pins and took a shower, then we went through some envelopes to check out our loot hehe... we had a breakfast the next day with our family in the hotel around 10am i think.

we are planning on one. Our RH is over at 6. So we are going to go back to my moms house and hang out a bit and then well head back to the hotel when we feel like getting some alone time

No. Our reception ended at 12. Those who wanted to continue the party went to the bar. I was not one of those people, although DH wanted to go.
I couldn't wait to get the dress off, and go to sleep with no wedding nightmares!
If our wedding was in the afternoon I would've arranged something.

We had a small wedding with a dinner only reception..after dinner people who had to leave left and the rest of us went to the Pink POny bar and had a blast. It was so relaxed and a great way to end the night. We didn't feel like we had to 'entertain' anybody. We all just drank laughed and had a relaxed blast. Then again there were only about 30 of us, and only 35 were invited to the whole wedding

Our reception ended at midnight, we had the bar paid for and rented at the hotel we stayed at for those that wanted to come back, we did have alot of our guests come back to the hotel and hang out with us for awhile.
