...between 2 (or more) venues that you loved BOTH? How did you choose? Was there something that pushed you towards one or the other? Going through a horrible decision time between two very similar venues that me, FH and my mother all love D:

We had to choose. It was really annoying because FH and I had completely different tastes and couldn't agree on anything!! When we went to our venue, he really liked it, I liked the ballroom and the food was great so it worked out to be a perfect compromise between us. And the manager was awesome and could pretty much do anything we asked for in our budget! I know it seems crazy stressful now, but in the end you both are getting married and that's the important part and the details like where seem super important now but if you go with a place that has a good reputation there is no way you can make a mistake.

We went back to the two we were deciding between with our parents and my mom was able to point out a lot of flaws I never would have seen in the other place. And that was our deciding factor pretty much. We made pro/con lists for both also and there were a lot more cons for the other venue and not too much pros. Once you see it written out, it might help you see it clearer.

Make appointments to go back on separate days so that you do not get overwhelmed. When we were deciding we also brought our parents to the second visit to get their opinion and it helped a lot. So I would also recommend bringing your parents to get their outlook. Also, if you wanted to share the two venues maybe we could help you out if anyone here has been to them and/or is getting married there.

We're deciding between the Bourne Mansion and the de Seversky Mansion. Unfortunately we live out of state and want to make a decision before someone snatches up our date, so we probably can't make a second trip down to see them again unfortunately :( My mom came with us on the second round of looks and saw some flaws at the de Seversky but they were honestly nothing that bothered me. We plan on writing out the pro/con list today which I'm a big fan of doing and hope it might help! But if anyone has any insights or thoughts about either of these places, I would love to hear the input!!! They also came out to nearly exactly the same price, so thats not even a helping deciding factor lol

The Bourne mansion was my dream venue! But with the time of the year and our massive guest list, we knew we couldn't afford it. Are there any other family members on Long Island that you can ask for an honest opinion about both venues? Both places look so beautiful.

I love love love de Sversky Mansion it's totally my style but Bourne Mansion is really glamorous. There's two really awesome reviews of both those places here on The Bride's Review.

We were lucky that we had a relatively small guest list (100-125) and were willing to do an off season month so we could make these normally super expensive venues work for us! They are really amazing and I was all set with the Bourne until I saw the de Seversky haha. Unfortunately I have to say there's not really any one other than my parents who I would trust to give us an honest opinion =/Thanks for telling me about the Bride's Review, I'm going to go take a look at those reviews!!

I've been to both and if I was deciding between the two I would say Bourne Mansion all the way. Good luck with your decision!

We had to decide between two that we loved! It's really difficult. For us, both had the same price point and add ons, etc, but were drastically different locations that we loved for completely different reasons. If you love them both you'll be happy either way! Make a list of everything that your dream wedding would include and see which one fits it best. :)

Thanks everyone!! We were already leaning towards the Bourne and some of your comments are helping us cement that decision :)Unfortunately we just found out that the date we wanted, March 25 2016, is the Friday before Easter :( :( So now we're trying to decide if we would be happy with March 18th (the day before St. Patrick's Day/more likely to be cold or snow) Buuummmeeer

FH knew right away we were going to go with Fox Hollow. The Winter Garden Pavillion went perfectly with our winter wedding and the hotel being onsite was a no brainer.

oy. I don't think a week will make that big of a difference. I've never been to either venue but I'm sure you can't go wrong with either Bourne mansion was on my list but unfortunately out of our budget :( it's such a gorgeous venue and so different!

Thanks everyone for all your feedback and input!!! You really helped make a difficult decision a little bit easier. It came down in the end to going over pros/cons and comparing thoughts between myself, FH and my mom. While we loved both places, we all agreed that the Bourne Mansion won by a smidge (mostly influenced by the woman we are working with because she is amazing). We just booked our date for March 18, 2016 at the Bourne AND I AM SO EXCITED AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! :D :D 5 months after we got engaged and we can finally start wedding planning!
