This is horrific! This is why I would never trust ANY animal - no matter how long I have known the animal or how long it's been in the family. You just NEVER can predict what an animal will do to a child. My heart goes out to that poor, heartbroken family. They lost a child and a pet....horrible!

Horrible! makes you think??? baby monitor?, screams? where IS the dog? It baffles me, family pet or not, it's a new baby!!! People must know also that anything 'new' in the house would make any pet uncomfortable until they get used to it.
This has gotten MY attention and awarness.

This happened I think in NC...not sure though. It was a malamute and supposedly the kindest most gentle dog in the world. It just goes to show you, oyu can never truly trust an animal. It was so sad but not for nothing...why wouldnt you double check where the dog was??? Not blaming the mom cause of course I felt so bad for her but still..imo
