Did you 'interview' your pediatrician before choosing them?

Some books and website recommend interviewing a few pediatricians that have been recommended to you before making a choice. Did anyone do this?

No - I didn't do this - but I had a few friends recommend a pediatrician - I used mine on their word, and thankfully it worked out fine, my son is 7 and has been going to the same one since he came home from the hospital.

Absolutely! You want to make sure you feel comfortable. There are 6 docs in the ped practice we go to and there is only 1 doctor that I absolutely love, we hit it off, I love her bedside manner and her parenting techniques, she's so real and doesn't make me feel stupid for asking a million questions, or when I admit to all the parenting taboos, such as: my kids sleep in bed with me, or that my 2 year old is addicted to the bottle, they don't take ttheir vitamins, etc. She looks at me and says 'as long as the kids are safe, it is whatever works for you that is is key' and I love that about her, she never judges me, and many docs will!!

I did meet with the pediatricians, but didn't bring a long list of questions with me. I just wanted to get a sense of personalities and communication styles. I know that I needed someone who could put me at ease and that would not be condescending, so thats what I tried to assess in the meetings.
