I agree!! More and more brides now are having a longer engagements to save up for their wedding (at least in NY)! By the way i LOVE your dress that you picked out- absolutely gorgeous!

Me and my FI were engaged in 04' and I feel so much more relaxed planning this wedding. No rush....we could save money and not be broke by the time we walk down the aisle.

My FH and I have been engaged since May 05. But we planned to have the wedding in June 07 so that we could save money for the wedding and a house and also to be finished with school! I can't wait though! I'm sure the months will fly by. I hope. lol I can't wait to look for dresses though.

Us too!!! Everyone was like 'Why are you going to wait 3 years'

So I said.....Umm hello its not three years b/c in 2 months it will be 05!

I can't wait to say that we are getting married 'NEXT YEAR' and I can't believe that in 3 months I will already be engaged for a WHOLE YEAR!!! It moving fast already girls!!!

I really think that people dont pay attention to the time of year and dont really have any idea what a wedding costs these days. We are getting help from both families but even then it is a huge amount of money to get married...when FIL got married it cost like 10K total-my catering is practically double that!!!!
