Did you pay extra for Hollow to Hem

If so could you let me know about how much? A dress I am intersted in I was told needed to be ordered hollow to hem

I did not order my dress hollow to hem but was offered this when I ordered my dress. It was $75 extra for hollow to hem, but the lady told me typical alterations for the bottom of the dress are around $100 so hollow to hem was actually a cheaper option.

I am sure the dress shop told you, but just remember for hollow to hem you have to know what shoes you are going to wear or atleast how high of a heel you want.

I just took out my receipt from kleinfelds and they charged 250

Thanks..the price I was quoted falls in between those 2 ($160)

I'm still not sure if it is the dress but I wanted to know if that was a good price

My dress was hollow to hem and I think I was charged $150.

Mine was $360 I believe the cost is determined by the designer, not the dress shop. But it was well worth it for me, or I would've lost all the detailing on the bottom of my dress.

That's a lot of $$$ but I would pay it too not to lose the detail..I just had no idea what the prices were

They sometimes can also order the bottom piece to come separate. I didn't do the hollow to hem... but they ordered the last few inches to come separate so I didn't lose the detailing when they hemmed it... and I didn't have to pay anything extra for it. This was done in Kleinfeld's.

yes about $150 - do NOT loose weight between ordering your dress with hollow to hem otherwise dress shops will claim it's your fault for the dress being too long and then will charge you for extra alterations....learn that the hard way!

I did pay for it when I got my dress, I dont remember how much it was.

Mine was $100 for Hollow to Hem but I was told it'd be a similar price to hem it anyway so it was just easier to pay the $100 up front. I actually really need to go and make sure the length is right with my shoes and everything.

The designer threw it in because I got my dress during his Trunk Sale at Kleinfeld - but it was on the bill for about $300 and then taken off!

Hollow to hem is when they measure from the hollow of your neck to the bottom of where the dress will fall... then they order you a dress that's going to come in those dimensions.

Usually shorter girls need this or if the dress is very detailed on the bottom.
this way you dont have to cut off all the bottom detailing.

The bottom of my dress was scalloped lace so instead of hollow to hem they just ordered my bottom piece separate.
