We were on the fence for awhile but we decided to just hire a videographer. Nothing crazy, we went with a very reasonable vendor. We just got our video last week and I am so glad we decided to hire a videographer

I know a friend of my family got married 8 years ago and opted not to have one so they could cut the cost a lilttle and they regret not having one because she says she missed so much and would love to see everyone dancing and having a good time.

I did not have a professional videographer, but had 2 of my friends and 2 family members videotape the ceremony and some of the reception. I do not regret hiring a professional videographer, but I am glad I had people videotape the wedding. My husband's nephew (who is great with electronics), combined the videos and added some extra stuff (like music, graphics, etc) and the best thing is....everything was free!!!! and very real instead of too made up (like some videographers do).

Eh. Yes and no. On the no side, I know I won't be watching my wedding video over and over again. So, it would be a waste of money. On the yes side, there are things that I would love to see again. Like, my wrestling match bouquet toss. Having a videographer for funny moments would be totally worth it.

In the beginning FH (now Dh lol) didn't want to have one and we had a couple of fights lol. The bottom line for me was what one of my friends said though: 1) There are people who will no longer be with you in the years to come, and a wedding video will ensure that you have live footage of them forever and 2) the video offers you a perspective of your wedding that you probably did not see. Photos are important but they only can show so much....a live video is a keepsake of your wedding...also something to show your kids (if you have any) in the years to come.
The money saved by not having one isn't worth the loss of not having a video
