I Know you ladies are very busy with LIW site, but did anyone read 'for Love or Money' in Newsday 08/30 back page section B. What do you think when they said couple should request $$$? What do you think?

i read the article and i can't see how in any way, shape or form, it is acceptable for engaged couples to ask for money. and a couple should never go into their wedding looking to make a profit. it upsets me when you read about women who want to make money on whats supposted to be a beautiful day.

I have heard of many other people invited to bridal showers where money was requested as the actual gift since the couples had a lot of what they needed. And every one of those persons BI*TC*D about the audacity. Although I think it could only be the beginnings of a new trend.

I think it is the start of a new trend. The Bridal Registery was once thought of as rude, but with time it has gained acceptance. I am not saying that I agree or disagree with requesting money. I just think that it is going to become more common(along with mortgage registerys and HM registerys).

Yeah, I agree.
I agree also. Think about it, today many if not most couples already live together and are not starting off from scratch. And today...money is an issue for many couples, even if they both work.
