did you try on this Melissa Sweet Dress?

okay, this is my (i think) dream dress. But I will not go and try it on if it is a billion dollars.

Melissa Sweet is carried at Bergdorf Goodman...somehow I get the feeling it is not a 'budget concious bride' dress.

It is the Hallie 70246

http://www.melissasweet.com/main.html

It's the lace one in all the magaines where the girl is standing in front of a bathtub outdoors.

GORGEOUS! But untouchable...$$ ??

TIA!!!

OMG - i love that dress! I have that picture ripped out b/c i want that hair style and make up! It is probably on the exspensive side but there are no patents on dresses so you can probably bring it to a bridal store and they can find one that is very similar for a great price!

also if you call RK bridal they will quote you over the phone- just have the model # and designer!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress. I did not try it on, because I bought the first dress I tried on that is also all lace. I have no idea how much it is but if you go to theknot.com and check their gown listings it is listed as 'moderately expensive $1500 to $3000. Go to the link below and click on the dress - it will give you all the details.

I am obsessed with it too! I have had it ripped out of the magazine forever. I guess I could just take it around and try to find something similar. I think her hair is gorgeous in that pic as well. The whole image has that soft, romantic feel that I am going for.

I just perused her website, and it seems like such a great company. Melissa Sweet's bio is interesting, and it seems like she is passionate about brides and their dresses. Maybe I will go try it on...just to torture myself when I see the 3,000 price tag.

Wow, thank you for all the helpful replies. I could have it made...something about that lace looks just so soft and imported from Europe! Maybe I will go to 'Blue' downtown. I hear she is a trip to work with!

The only place on Long Island that carries the dress is Bridal Couture of Manhasset. It's 2500. I tried it on, it's beautiful.

i am also obsessed with this dress!! there was one bride on liweddings who tried it on (it was the bride who was having a difficult time deciding on a dress... can't remember her name, though). it looked gorgeous on her! i'm not sure how it would fit my build, though. it looks like one of those dresses that you have to try on.

I actually tried that dress on at Bergdorff's and the dress got stuck on me- the zipper broke-- they took a scissor and CUT it off of me..

I guess a lot of people tried that dress on too-- the zipper I guess conked out.

OMG, that's the dress my cousin chose. I just went this Thursday to Bergdoff Goodman with her for her final fitting. . . her wedding is in July 2005. I believe the dress cost approx. $3,600 there, and that didn't include any alterations, which I think she had two. And there was a special fitting she had to go to initially, I forgot exacty what it's cold that she had done.

The dress is beautiful in person and the lace is soooo soft.

I tried it on at Pricilla of Boston in December 2004. It was about $2,000 give or take.

I remember it being about half as much as the dresses that I was looking at, but it could be slightly higher. I do not recall that it was 3,500 but then again I could be wrong. It was the P of B in Roslyn.
