Re: diet help

Aim for a weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week.
I do great on WW online, but I also incorporate elements of the SouthBeach diet into my lifestyle. What always does the trick for me is watching carbs/sugar-I get all my healthy carbs in by lunch time, and the rest of the day is veggies and lean proteins.
Also if you cut out caloric beverages and limit the alcohol you will notice a huge difference without even trying!

Re: diet help

hit the gym 3-4 times a week and eat healthy - don't keep snacks in your house - substitute them with nuts and fruits.

Re: diet help

this may be a stupid question but i have been running 1-2 x a week and each time i run anywhere from 5k-10k ...i run races ----do you think that im gaining anything from these???

Re: diet help

The key is knowing how much of each macronutrient YOU personally need! I did weight watchers for a while and did ok but i wasn't getting all of the nutrition i needed. I stocked up on 'low point' food like popcorn but wasn't eating real meals. Since then I started seeing a nutritionist and now understand what my body needs to work. I eat five times a day mainly lean proteins and vegetables and some good fats. (Although, I was shocked to notice just howm any grams of carbs are in veggies!) I track everything in a program given to me by my nutritonist and it helps me know what i have been eating and whati still need to eat or what i shouldn't eat that day. I exercise 3 days a week! If you do choose weight watchers, which works for so many people, please make sure you are eating a healthy balanced diet...not 1 point or 0 point foods!

About how much are nutrionists? That seems like the ony way I will get the last 15 lbs off.

Re: diet help

I lost alot of weight this past year without even really trying (i.e. not really exercising everyday). I switched my diet dramatically. I only eat whole wheat carbs.. lots of fresh veggies etc... also I eat smaller portions. I don't drink anything except water and green tea (without sugar). I don't drink anymore, I will have the occasional glass of wine or a beer but very rarely. It really made a difference!
