I have been doing really good on my diet. Eating healthy going to the gym...so far i lost 9 pound . My question is...i'm going away this weekend to see FH family they are definitely not healthy eaters. Am i going to be rude if i go grocery shopping when i get there so i can get some healthy things for me? I'm so afraid that i will gain weight again if i eat the things that they will have at the house. I have been working so hard on loosing this weight. Any suggestions will help. Thank you.

Re: diet question
I wouldnt go grocery shopping...they will more than likely take offense. I say eat what they prepare, but eat it all in moderation. If they offer a salad as a side, eat that first to fill up then have a small portion of the main dish. If they offer a dessert, have a small bit of it and only take a few bites... You will be fine if you just watch the amount you eat. Also, even if you gain 1 pound you will lose it again in no time!!

I agree with what everyone is saying. Eat smaller portions and take your time eating so you fill up faster. People get offended when it comes to food lol, so you want to be careful.

I agree... you are not going to blow your diet if you go off the wagon one weekend. Just watch what you eat, drink lots of water, and try and stay active. If you have time, go for a walk with your hunny.
In reality you don't want to deprive your body of these foods you are afraid of, bc in a year when you do decide to eat them again, they add up a lot more then, then they will in moderation now. That is one main reason i steered clear of the no carbs diet.

Re: diet question
Also sometimes when you are dieting for a while its actually good to trick your body by veering off the diet for short weekend. Just get back in routine when you come home. Enjoy!

Re: diet question
Personally, I dont think it's rude. If you or FH explains how hard you are working to lose weight, they should totally understand. And if they dont, I think something is wrong with them. I personally would bring some snacks, fruits, vegetables etc. I'd by enough to share...so it looks like you were being thoughtful too

Re: diet question
I think you'll be ok!! Like everyone else said small portions, lots of water and then get right back to eating right when you come and you'll be fine!! Sometimes it is ok to eat bad for a day or two because after dieting and eating right for so long if you don't treat yourself once in a while you will just binge!!! Enjoy the weekend and don't worry about gaining weight you'll be fine!!!

I was gonna say the same!! Going off a diet for a weekend can actually be a GOOD thing. Just don't go overboard, eat in moderation, and go back to your diet when you get home. You may even lose a lb! If you do gain, it will be easily shed once your back on your routine.
