So here I am at the 6 month mark, tomorrow, and I need to drop about 10 lbs. I cant seem to get motivated and had a ton of medical issues over the past few weeks (complications of lyme disease, horrific). Do I join or Weight Watchers Monday despite the fact that I know I dont have much time to go to the meetings and it would be one more thing to OVERWHELM myself with! Let alone writing it all down ...
OR
Do I opt for an online program like sparkpeople.com where I can do all my calorie counting there for free and watch my weight at home? I got clearance from the cardiologist so now I can start exercising again.
HELP! Will someone hold me accountable? Btw, I cant start tomorrow - I have two places for cake tasting!

I do weight watchers in Levittown on Saturdays. Just as an FYI...they are changing the program (how they calculate and how many points you get, etc.) and its supposed to be even easier. In centers, it starts tomorrow. I think online catches up Monday or Tuesday.
I've been going for 5 weeks and am down 11 lbs. Its worth it to do it now rather than after the new year!

Re: Diet woes ...
Did you all do the one where you pay $40 for the month? I may need the motivation like 'Im paying for this, so I cant be a fattie' lol
I just want to believe I can do it on my own and I did. I lost 15 lbs on my own but I have lost motivation and keep eating damn goldfish crackers like they were the BEST thing on earth!
Whats my deal?

Lol. I know how you feel!! I did do the monthly pass (40 per month). You get the etools thing so you can track points online, there is a recipe builder, etc. Plus, meetings are included with the cost. Def. worth it.
And goldfish are pretty good. I just ate a coffee mug of lucky charms so I can't say anything. Lol.

Re: Diet woes ...
Dana ... I CANT stop eating them! Id drive in the freezing cold for a damn box of cheddar goldfish. Really? Yes, really! Pathetic I know.
I did WW a long time ago just not sure if its worth me spending the money. I know what I have to do, I just dont seem to be doing it. I guess at the end of the day whats $40 bucks.
I may need someone to go to meetings with me! Then again, I may not want anyone to see -

Re: Diet woes ...
So I decided ... ya know while I ate some Halloween candy. I phoned my trainer and will start training with her once weekly. I am also going to join Weight Watchers on Monday. UGH ... okay this is it! Ill give it a month and hopefully see some results. If so I will keep at it!
Then come January I will join pilates for the winter season. Anyone interested?
Someone PLEASE make me accountable! Ha ha! Something has got to give! And preferably not the seat under my tush!

Re: Diet woes ...
Good luck!!! I did weight watchers once too and it was great. Right now I am just doing online calorie counting though, and I signed up for 4 training sessions last night because I felt like I needed an extra push too. I think that will help (both of us) a lot. Try checking in on all the weigh in threads too if you feel like it would help to have someone to 'report' to. Again, good luck. I'm sure that if you stick with it you will have some great results in a month!

Re: Diet woes ...
i big puffy heart WW and i'm really liking the new program.
it actually works and isn't a gimmick. Totally worth the money - online only is cheaper than the monthly pass (which gives you access to the online etools and meetings). i think the meetings are worth it. meetings run 30 min to an hour and you don't have to stay the whole time. i love the meetings b/c the support is what really helps me stay on track.
my bff lost 50 lbs and did it online only. she's kept it off for 8 months already and looks amazing.

Re: Diet woes ...
I'm on the same boat. I've never had a problem dropping weight but ever since the wedding, I can't shed not 1 pound. Instead I'm gaining..must be all the stress. I currently work out and do lots of running but apparently my body is already used to that. So I have decided to do some spinning class in Forest Hills early in the morning (6am) and then go during lunch for some cardio jam kickboxing. Hope this will work and can lose the 8 pounds before bpic in Feb.
