Difference between rooms at Sandals Grande St Lucia?

This is double posted with BHB.

We're about to book our honeymoon. Finally! Yay, so exciting!

Anyway, is it worth it to book the oceanfront room? Which block is best? If you reserve a specific block, do you actually get it? We're not getting a suite, and we're not getting the lowest level room. So, we can get:

Luxury Beachfront Room - BL

Grande Luxe Oceanview Room - GO

Luxury Oceanview Room - LX

Premium Room - PR

Who has stayed in these, and are they worth it?

Bump?

I've been looking at the maps and stuff. It's down to the Luxury Oceanfront Room, and the Luxury Beachfront room. The rooms themselves are the same. The difference is placement. The Oceanfront room is about $60 cheaper a day. There's three places they could be--two are by the main area where the Beachfront rooms are. The third is up on top of the bluff by the really fancy rooms called 'Sunset Bluff.' I guess they're the upstairs rooms from the giant suites. But they don't have balconies. That area sounds wonderful, but I'd like to have a balcony. I keep going back and forth!! They sound just as nice as the Beachfront rooms, but then I think why are they $60 less?

Tell me about it. I read a TripAdvisor report where they stayed up on the bluffs, in an ocean view room, and said they loved it and it had incredible reviews, and that it was lovely and quiet, too. Which is also a factor for us. We're going to be on our honeymoon, we don't want to be disturbed. Read the second report, that's the one that got me confused. We're probably going to go for the beachfront room, just to be sure, but it's weird. But then, who knows what room we'll actually get when we arrive, right? I've had that happen at hotels many times, that I'll reserve something specific but it hasn't be vacated when I arrrived.

Re: Difference between rooms at Sandals Grande St Lucia?

HI... WE are going to St Lucia Regency for our HOneymoon. My sister went there for her honeymoon so we took her advice and picked the Luxe Beachfront Room . She said it has a beautiful view. She actually booked the standard room and they upgraded her to that room when they got there. Their advice was to mention you are on your honeymoon when you get there and ask if there are any upgraded rooms available. Hey asking couldn't hurt, and you could get an awesome room for the price of the one you booked.

Hope That Helps! :)

I'm sorry ignore me,. I just realized you were asking about the grande.. and not the Regency :(. But maybe the rooms are similiar since they are both Sandals???

I stayed at the Grande last year. I would definitely go for the oceanfront room with a balcony. We didn't have a concierge, but they might throw it in for free if it's your honeymoon. FM if you have any other questions. It's a great place! :)

No matter what, make sure you fly into the airport closest to your hotel - there's two airports on St. Lucia. Because it's so hilly and the roads are so narrow, it can be a rough ride.

We are staying at the Grande and we got an Oceanfront Concierge room.

I am not sure what rooms you are talking about. Sorry I could not be of more help.

We are staying at the Grande as well and I think we got the Honeymoon Penthouse Room - with conceirge -
I know friends who went and said that the conceirge service basically does all booking and reservations for you - and this level allows you to have room service!
