Re: different florist?
yeah, she's really being wonderful :) I work and go to graduate school full time, so I'm pretty busy and our Saturday afternoons are the only free time to shop around, so she does lots of preshopping during the week :)

Re: different florist?
You need to go to Flower Michele. John is the best. He gets RAVE reviews on this board and his pieces are amazing.

Re: different florist?
I've been to Signature Florist in Bellmore. Right now he is one of my two finalists for flowers for my wedding. There is an 'Official Signature Florist' thread on the '06 board. Sorry I haven't heard of any of the others.

Re: different florist?
I used Signature Florist in Bellmore and they were wonderful. George was very helpful in helping me chose what i wanted and their prices were really really good in comparison to the other places i went to. The flowers were gorgeous on the day and the CP's lasted for about a week after the wedding. I'd recommend them highly! There are a few threads about them on the site also.
ETA: Just because a florist (or any other vendor) hasn't been discussed on the boards, doesn't mean they aren't good. I know its helpful to check out places that others have recommended, but don't dismiss someone because everyone else hasn't used them...

Re: different florist?
I've been to Dalsimer in Cedarhurst and Signature. Dalsimer was great when i got there and gave me a quote which seemed reasonable at the time. Then when i went to look at a sample CP, she all of sudden said she couldn't do the tulle swagging in the Church and the bouts would be extra $. And on top of that, the CP was all greens and hardly any roses and orchids. I was very disappointed.
The next day, I went to Signature and met George who was wonderful! His quote came in $700 less than Dalsimer and he could do the tulle swagging!!! Also, he had a more original idea for the CP and had the sample ready for me to see a few days later and it was gorgeous!!! Needless to say, I went with Signature.

Re: different florist?
With All My Heart is amazing. They are strictly an event florist. You can not walk in and just buy flowers, they just specialize in wedding etc.. The owners name is Lenea, she is very sweet and knowledgable. Give her a call (631)476-4848

Re: different florist?
I am using Signature Florist. I couldn't be happier with George! I am so glad that I found him because he was the only florist who put us at ease. He is so easy to work with and the quality of his flowers are amazing. Check out the Signature Florist thread on the 06 board and you'll see how good his work is.

Re: different florist?
i met with george at signature. he was great -i ultimately picked someone else (keyth from lovin oven floral), but george was a 'finalist.'
other tidbit of advice to keep in mind is that it seems a lot of ladies who have gone out on their own and used 'regular' florists as opposed to those that specialized in weddnigs, have gotten a great deal.... bc sometimes wedding means people can charge more $$$. So, if your mom has heard good things about some of these people, don't discount them.
GOOD LUCK!

Re: different florist?
I used a florist that is not known as a 'wedding florist' but we have used over the years and I knew did great work. Also, they do the flowers for my church and since I was married on a Sunday, she said she would try to have the altar flowers for that week coordinate with my flowers.
So, I would also say, don't discount someone that hasn't been mentioned on here, but see if you know someone who has used them

Re: different florist?
Im using Dalsimer and my experiences thus far have been great. They drew up a contract of exactly what would be included for my price. I made it very clear that I did not want one speck of white ANYTHING (floral OR tulle) and that I wanted a natural rather than bridal feel to my wedding. I want greenery festooned between the pews and thats what they wrote. They are the suggested florist for my temple and the owner/partner is doing a 'walk through' with me a few weeks before the wedding to show me and help me decide where everything is to go. So it is more like interior design than just plopping flowers in the middle of a table. They were negotiable as the initial quote was too high. With a little tweaking and using some of MY suggestions, we brought the price down to a level we could afford. Does that mean they werent expensive? No. But for us they were reasonable.
