I wanted to think of something different to do for my bridal shower.. Every time I speak to my friends we talk about how formal and blah some bridal showers can be...
Has anyone been to a shower that was diff from the typical set up?
Any ideas would be great?
It would be sometime in March.

Re: Different Ideas for a Bridal Shower
I HATE bridal showers! And was not looking forward to my own. But my girls did an amazing job! It was at a restaurant on the water for BRUNCH!!! It was 11am to 2pm. They asked the guests not to wrap the gifts, so when everyone came in, they put a flower shaped name tag on the gift and displayed everything. I only opened 'special' gifts - like something handmade or had a story behind it. It was great! And painless for all.

I am looking for the same thing, I hate games and will be having a honeymoon registry so I won't be opening presents. My girls are having at no the typical place for me, as they are having it at a Mexican restaurant. Mexico is one of the stops on our cruise and they thought it would be fun to have sangria at the shower. That is all I know that they have planned I am not getting anymore info out of them!!!!!!

Re: Different Ideas for a Bridal Shower
not sure if this is what you are looking for, but for my sister's shower we did a wine themed shower.. she has owned a house for a few years and didn't need a wishing well so in lieu of that we asked everyone to bring a bottle of wine, and I got her a nice wine rack. THe shower was upstate at a catering facility in the wine cellar room, so it went along with the theme.
We only did bridal bingo for people to be entertained while she was opening gifts and bridal scratch offs. I am not a fan of the games either and this was very classy and fun! Plus she had about 30 bottles of wine to bring home after the shower was over!

A wine themed shower sounds great!
You'll have plenty of wine for when you entertain or just want to cozy up with FH!

Re: Different Ideas for a Bridal Shower
My future sisters in law and future mom in law did apron & cupcake theme for me. FMIL bought me a cupcake print apron as one of my birthday gift . My birthday was in may. Then they took this cupcake idea and planned the most amazing bridal shower for me. The day before my shower, they told my fiance to bring my cupcake apron to her house. Then next day my fiance drop me of at FMIL house. When i walk in the house, i almost cry seeing my mom, friends and family there wearing their favorite apron. We had champagne, snacks, lunch then we play toilet paper dress and cupcake decoration contest. The winner of the cupcake decoration win a one of a kind cupcake print apron custom made by my future monther in law. We had so much fun.... After the party, few of us went for a boat ride and call it a day:) Excuse my english not very good, but i hope you all can understand me:) Photos in my album:)

Re: Different Ideas for a Bridal Shower
I think most people hate when the bride-to-be opens her gifts. I have gone to a few showers where the gifts were wrapped in cellophane. The bride held each gift up and said who it was from. It worked out great.
