Different pricing on Bridal Gowns??

I understand that different salons would offer various prices on the same dress b/c of their mark-ups and profit needs. But on modifications to a dress (omitting the pleats for example) 4 different salons called the designer and told us 4 different prices for each modification, ranging from $75 (at a popular LIW seamstress ) to $295 at another salon. All told us this is what the designer is charging! It adds up to quite a difference!

Unfortunately, as you would expect, the higher price salon has the actual dress and a sweet saleswoman, while some of the others said they can get the dress....

Anyone else have this experience? Did you try to negotiate the charges?

it's all markup and profit.

if they all called the manufacturer, they all would have gotten the same price--some just marked it way up.

go with the $75 because a higher price does not equal higher quality.
